ARCHS Honored with Quality Achievement Award



In March ARCHS was honored for its quality improvement efforts by the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) and was presented an achievement award.

ARCHS uses the Baldrige Excellence Framework™ to inform its on-going quality improvement efforts. Baldrige is a noted holistic framework used by organizations across multiple industries to improve their performance and achieve sustainable results. In less than two years, ARCHS has achieved the first three of four regional levels of recognition through TNCPE - using the Baldrige Excellence Framework™ as its evalulation tool.

Each level responds to a deeper level of assessment on the Baldrige-based continuum. Once organizations achieve level four status, they are eligible to apply for the national Baldrige award.

ARCHS quality improvement efforts focus on enhancing its strategic support of its portfolio of funded partners to improve the lives of children and families facing disparities and disadvantages in St. Louis’ most resource deprived communities.

ARCHS' FY 2022 Community Impact Report



Dear Partners,

Over the past two years the St. Louis community has shown its resilience as we have rebounded from the impact of the pandemic. In our FY 2022 Community Impact Report (July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022), ARCHS is proud to present examples of how ARCHS continues to find innovative ways to engage with our portfolio of 38 funded partners to increase access points and remove barriers to vital human services.

This past year we have piloted new initiatives on behalf of the State of Missouri and enhanced delivery mechanisms for others. To assist in this work, ARCHS has strategically adopted the Baldrige excellence model to further demonstrate our commitment to quality. As challenging circumstances continue to face our region, ARCHS thanks our funded partners and community stakeholders for your continued diligence to improve the lives of children and families.

ARCHS Invests in Housing & Jobs


ARCHS has issued $9 million to support housing and workforce development initiatives across the region. ARCHS provided grants to the following organizations:

-Better Family Life
-Bridging Families to Communities & Beyond
-Employment Connection
-Fathers & Families Support Center
-Habitat for Humanity
-Housing Options Provided for the Elderly
-Living with Purpose
-MOKAN
-Mission: St. Louis
-St. Louis Agency on Training & Development
-Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis

ARCHS secured its funding from the Missouri Department of Social Services. ARCHS’ funded partners will provide additional leveraged/in-kind support to further advance the ARCHS’ funded programs.

Services available through ARCHS’ funded programs include new home construction/repair, senior housing support, case management, soft skills and job readiness training, life counseling and employment skills training, cultural enrichment, pre-apprenticeships, certifications in high demand industries, transportation, uniforms, childcare, utility assistance, assistance for court referred non-custodial parents, and additional wrap around support services.

ARCHS Addresses Gun Violence


ARCHS has issued $1 million to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis (UL) to further the success of the Serving Our Streets program (SOS), aimed at intervening and preventing violent gun confrontations.

The program was created in 2020 to address the chronic gun violence plaquing the St. Louis region. UL responds to information given to them by neighborhood residents, or who call a hotline with knowledge of gun violence confrontations.

This is the third grant cycle ARCHS has provided funded and strategic support for the program that has served more than 8,500 participants. Since 2020, the program has intervened to de-escalate 207 conflicts, all within 72 hours. On average, 98% of participants did not engage in violent crimes while in the program during a six month follow up period. In addition to the de-escalation efforts, the program provides extensive wrap around education, employment, health, legal, safety, and social services.

ARCHS secured its funding from the Missouri Department of Social Services. UL provides additional leveraged/in-kind support to further advance the ARCHS funded program. SOS focuses on the three St. Louis neighborhoods:

-Hyde Park: A historic North St. Louis neighborhood, bound by Ferry to the North, I-70 to the east, Palm Street and Natural Bridge Avenue to the south, and Glasgow to the west.
-Jeff-Vander-Lou: Situated between North Vandeventer Avenue on the northwest, Natural Bridge Avenue on the northeast, North Jefferson Avenue on the east, Delmar Boulevard on the south, and North Compton Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive on the southwest.
-Kingsway East: Defined by Natural Bridge on the north, Martin Luther King on the south, Marcus Avenue on the east, and Kingshighway on the west.
