Youth Development Programs
ARCHS' Funding Partner: Missouri Department of Social Services (targeted funding to augment additional funding provided by service delivery partner).
Goal: Provide youth job training and lifeskills programs with a focus on health, nutrition, financial literacy, construction trade skills and other services for youth in North St. Louis City.
ARCHS' Service Delivery Partners: Mark Twain Community Resource Center and St. Louis CAN.
Key Results to Date: 359 youth participated in healthy activities and health and nutrition education programs that included the Hip Hop Heath Initiative, planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables in a community garden, participation in sports activities with the Redbird Rookies League and karate classes. 200 families (youth and adults) participated in trainings that included health awareness and financial literacy education. Availability: Open to students in families in targeted North City neighborhoods.
