ARCHS is calling on the St. Louis region's most famous citizens to give back to their hometown by telling their inspiring stories to students of all ages who are benefiting from ARCHS' community partnerships.

ARCHS is Inviting Hometown Heroes to Promote the Importance of Education and Tell Their Personal Stories of Pursuing the American Dream

What: ARCHS’ All Stars Community Partnership is a new and innovative program, linking hometown heroes with students of all ages. ARCHS invites celebrities, business, civic and political leaders to become an ARCHS’ All Star. Whether you live in Los Angeles or Ladue, Hollywood or Holly Hills, ARCHS can keep you in touch with your fellow St. Louisans.

Why?  ARCHS offers an easy way to give back to your hometown by providing access to audiences from all walks of life throughout Greater St. Louis.

 

Message:  Talk about the importance of education and what it takes to make dreams into reality using your own experiences.  You can visit with elementary and middle school students and adults.

 

Where: When in St. Louis, take some time to visit a pre-school center, an after school program or an adult education activity to share your experiences. ARCHS will work to customize your visit based upon your interests and available time.

 

Will Media be Present?:  Based upon your preference, your visit can be either an open or closed media event. ARCHS does request permission to take pictures/video for its websites.

Costs: ARCHS provides the All Stars Partnership as a free community service. Please consider donating  some of your time, it will make a lasting impression.  If you would like to donate something (such as free tickets to an event or autographed items) ARCHS would welcome your generosity.

How do I Become an ARCHS’ All Star?: Simply contact ARCHS, even on short notice. ARCHS will work with you and your staff to set up a visit.  ARCHS looks forward to area celebrities joining our growing list of All Stars and helping you find ways to give back to your hometown.

Here is a sampling celebrities giving back to their community through ARCHS' community partnerships.

April 2010: Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee visits students to promote good health and exercise in the ASAP after school program at Langston Middle School.

November 2009: Francine Lucas Sinclair ( whose parents inspired the movie American Gangster) and Rev. Dr. Wilson Goode (founder of the national Amachi program) were guest speakers at ARCHS' cosponsored 2009 Missouri Reentry Conference.

October 2009: St. Louis Cardinals' Fred Bird visited Central Catholic's St. Nicholas Academy to promote reading. St. Nicholas is one of the more than 80 area child care centers that ARCHS' supports. (Picture from KSDK-TV)

August 2009: U.S. Congressman William Lacy Clay, Jr. (MO First District) shares a laugh with U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA 35th District) at the dedication of the William L. Clay, Sr. Early Childhood Development Parenting Education Center at Harris Stowe State University. ARCHS provided funding to support the center.

February 2009: Recording Artist Murphy Lee (right) served as a panelist at a high school drop out prevention summit.  ARCHS was part of a city-wide partnership that hosted the summit.

April 2009: 100.3 The Beat's Radio Personality "Kiki The First Lady" (right) served as mistress of ceremonies at a high school drop out prevention summit. ARCHS was part of a city-wide partnership that hosted the summit.
