Preparing youth for a new global workforce includes an early focus on (METS) math, engineering, technology and science. ARCHS is building community partnerships with educators to advance METS learning and interest for children and adults.

ARCHS' METS Partnerships: Pre-K to Adult

METS is a statewide effort to foster Math, Engineering, Technology and Science (METS) education. METS is sometimes referred to as STEM. The purpose of this alliance between government, educators and business is to help prepare young Missourians for the demands of the global economy, an economy that demands more than just basic proficiency in these challenging fields.

ARCHS participated in the Governor's Inaugural METS Summit in 2006. Many of ARCHS' partnerships promote METS learning for both children and adults.

ARCHS is building upon its METS-related partnerships by working with its after school providers to offer METS activities throughout the After School for All Partnership - reaching thousands of area grade and middle school students. As well, ARCHS' Pre-K partners will benefit from METS-focused programs.

ARCHS' Welfare to Work and Reentry Community Partnerships are providing adult job training and job placements with METS related industries in St. Louis.
