ARCHS' Community Resource Directory provides important information to assist community organizations in their delivery of services to the Greater St. Louis Region.

ARCHS' Community Resource Directory: Pilot
An on-line directory is giving St. Louis Metropolitan Police (SLMPD) Officers access to information about community resources that will assist them in serving city residents and visitors.
Using ARCHS' new On-Line Community Resource Directory, the officer can log onto their SLMPD district computer or patrol car laptop and provide residents and visitors with helpful information regarding services that pertain to their needs.
ARCHS’ directory helps officers locate services such as shelters for abused women or substance abuse treatment programs. ARCHS’ directory features more than 300 key St. Louis City and County agencies and is organized around four categories – domestic violence, homeless, substance abuse and youth services.
The intranet-based directory offers easy to use drop down navigational boxes. ARCHS owns the directory that was created in partnership with the Public Policy Research Center (PPRC) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and SLMPD.
ARCHS is piloting the use of the directory with the SLMPD and hopes to expand the use of the directory in the future.
“Implementing the use of the On-Line Community Resource Directory further illustrates this Department’s commitment to providing its officers with the best community resources to assist in serving St. Louis citizens,” said Colonel Joseph Mokwa, Chief of Police.
“ARCHS is proud to offer this service to the St. Louis community. Our directory will enhance relationships between residents, police officers and local service agencies,” said Wendell E. Kimbrough, ARCHS’ CEO. “ARCHS looks forward to expanding the directory to meet community needs.”
"Creating this directory was a great opportunity for the PPRC to use our research skills and know-how, as well as partner with ARCHS and the police department," said Mark Tranel, director of the Public Policy Research Center at UMSL. "We have created a resource that will hopefully help officers on the street, and ultimately the people of St. Louis. It's been a rewarding project."
“With a listing in the ARCHS’ Directory, we can be assured that our services reach St. Louisans in need - and do so in real time - when people need us and other local resources the most,” said Julie Lawson, Executive Director of the Crime Victim Advocacy Center of St. Louis.
ARCHS secured the initial $50,000 to create the initial database. Phase I funding was provided by ARCHS, the former Sustainable Neighborhood Development Office, Ameren UE, Community Asset Management Co., Enterprise Rent-a-Car, and Swift Print Communications.
ARCHS continues to seek funding to support and expand the use of the directory.
